Arsene Wenger Put On Red Alert As £60million Winger Finally Becomes Available

Arsene Wenger has never been one to jump on the mainstream transfer window hype, but this appears to be an opportunity that’s way too good to miss.

According to the reliably informed French publication L’Equipe, PSG’s boss has told Julian Draxler he is free to find a new club with just two weeks left of the transfer window.

Following the historical signing of Neymar for over £200m, Unai Emery believes his squad is too big to fit a player like Draxler in and can’t promise he’ll be handed game time.

The 23-year-old only joined the Ligue 1 giants back in January after completing a £35.5m switch from Wolfsburg, a club where he grew fed up of waiting for bigger and better things.

But just when he thought his dream was completed at such a young age, PSG officials have made the decision to cut him out of the squad to make some of the Neymar money back.

Fresh Arsenal understand that PSG could be willing to sell for something similar to what they paid earlier this year, but the fee could reach within £60million once all add-ons are included.

Draxler is thought to be on a weekly wage of well over £100,000, something that wouldn’t put off the Gunners if they can get rid of a significant amount of deadwood players.

Wenger has been a long-term admirer of Draxler and the promising German midfielder nearly joined North London back in January before opting to be PSG’s main man on the left-wing.

It’s clear that Wenger wants someone in that position to revitalise the Arsenal attack after attempting to sign Monaco’s Thomas Lemar since the beginning of the summer.

PSG’s willingness to sell coupled with the realistic asking price, the fact we may have missed out on Lemar AND Wenger’s close relationship with Emery could make this deal easy to pull off.

However, before anything can get done Arsenal have to drop the likes of Debuchy, Gabriel, Jenkinson, Gibbs and possibly one more big name first-team player!
