Technically, the boss has taken six young players on the 13-hour journey to Singapore, where they will gain vital experience whilst playing and living with the senior members.

Arsenal fans will recognise 18-year-old Gedion Zelalem who has featured as a midfielder for the youth sides before making a professional debut in January 2014.

The highly-rated youngster has found comfort in the German contingent at the club, and is tipped to become a big part of the coming 2015/16 season.

Zelalem has made just two appearances with the first team, but with the loaning of Ainsley Maitland-Niles he has a big chance to step up his part in the central department.

There is a lot of excitement surrounding the inclusion of Daniel Crowley, who will link up with the squad on his first pre-season tour with the senior players.

It has been a turbulent couple of seasons for Crowley, who signed professional terms just 11 months ago, and now he is looking to kick on with his fast development.

Crowley has been a big part of the Under-21s since being promoted from the Under 18s, and his eye for a pass and dead-eye free-kick ability has put him in comparison to Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey.

Arsenal fans may also be surprised to see a new name on that list of 27 men, as Jeff Reine-Adelaide may feature for the first time in a pre-season game.

The youngster from France is looking to hit the ground running since his arrival from Lens academy last month.

Reine-Adelaide plays as an attacking midfielder, and Wenger hopes to see the best of the 17-year-old during the coming days, “He’s an offensive player but he can develop into an all-round midfielder as well. At the moment he plays on the right or left but I think he can develop as a central midfielder as well.”

The likes of Alex Iwobi and Chris Willcock are also travelling to Singapore, and although may not feature very much will gain some much needed experience.

The first of Arsenal’s games can be seen live on Sky Sports 1 on Wednesday evening, stay tuned with Fresh Arsenal throughout the week for all the latest news and views.
