Arsene Wenger is a huge admirer of the Lyon forward, and the Gunners have been heavily linked with a transfer since the summer window began.

And now, following reports from one of France’s top news outlets, L’Equipe, a deal could already be in place to bring the 24-year-old over to the Emirates.

The mood surrounding the transfer is currently surrounding the attitude of Lacazette, who has become distracted since interest began a few months ago.

When you add that media interest with the recent appearance the French international made at the Emirates, you can certainly believe a move could be in place.

Lacazette wasn’t handed the best of introductions to Arsenal fans whilst playing in the Emirates Cup, as Lyon were thrashed 6-0 by the Gunners during the pre-season tournament.

Things didn’t pick up on the following day, as the forward looked miserable as his side lost 2-0 to Villarreal, forcing the club to go home early much to Lacazette’s embarrassment.

But Arsenal fans know better to judge a player on his recent performances, and the striker has risen through the ranks to become one of the hottest topics this summer.

Currently holding the plaudit of Ligue 1’s top goalscorer for the 2014/15 campaign with 27, Lacazette has made a case for a big summer move all by himself.

The striker pushed his Lyon side to finishing an impressive second place last season, securing a Champions League place along with league winners, PSG.

And although the Frenchman isn’t missing out on European football, it is believed he has grown frustrated with carrying the club forward by himself.

Lacazette has an overwhelming record of 53 goals in just 94 appearances at Lyon, after performing as their top striker for the last two seasons.

That provides a perfect chance for the Gunners to swoop in, with reports suggesting a bid in the region of £25million could sweeten the striker across the border.

Wenger may have to fight some sort of competition from Liverpool, who have also been linked, but the recent arrival of Christian Benteke has poured doubt on another signing arriving at Anfield.

Did You See? Confirmed: Arsenal Striking Target Rejects New Contract

Attentions have turned to the options Wenger now has in attacking positions, following the suggestions that Karim Benzema is looking more and more unlikely.

Santi Cazorla and Arsene Wenger have both commented on the situation regarding the Real Madrid striker, with neither of them offering positive news to Arsenal fans.

Arsenal now have just three recognised strikers at the club, but with Alexis Sanchez returning to the picture soon, it could well mean any sign of a deal may run up until deadline day.

It seems Benzema, Lacazette and Gonzalo Higuain are up there as Arsenal’s top picks now, so which of the trio would you want at the Emirates? Let us know by commenting below!
