The Baggies have pounced on the chance to sign the 20-year-old, who has now been declared fully fit ahead of the 2015/16 campaign.

Gnabry has suffered a series of injury setbacks since joining the Gunners in 2011, all of which have halted his development and the highly rated potential that came with him.

A demand to have surgery on his knee meant the German Under-21 international missed the whole of last season’s action, and the youngster hasn’t featured in a first team jersey since March 2014.

However, following his long-term recovery period, Gnabry is now on the verge of joining Tony Pulis’ side to gain some regular playing time at the highest level.

The right-winger can offer serious competition to existing talent at the Midlands club, with James Morrison and new signing, James Mclean, looking to continue their impressive form.

Not only will Gnabry gain a realistic chance to develop on the right hand side, he will also get a chance to finally experience a regular run of games in the Premier League.

That is something the forward has failed to obtain under Arsene Wenger, having Theo Walcott, Aaron Ramsey and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to compete with before he can even think about featuring on the starting sheet.

Gnabry has made just 18 appearances for the senior squad in the four years he has been here, scoring one goal against Swansea in a 2-1 victory in 2013.

And although his career at the Gunners may look like a distant memory, the Under-21 international now has a chance to return with a new-found confidence.

The news of Gnabry’s exit is expected to be announced in the coming days, and is reportedly a loan that will last until January, with option to extend further if West Brom wish to do so.

The winger joins the likes of Isaac Hayden and Chuba Akpom who have also departed the Emirates to join Wolves on loan for the upcoming season.
