Arsenal Welcome 3 More Arrivals To London Colney… Well, Sort Of

Arsenal will welcome back three major names this week, as they look to build momentum ahead of what could be the most demanding season yet.

Each of the Gunners title rivals have added strength in either the manager’s office or the changing room, so Arsene Wenger’s side have it all to do.

A failure to pick up much-needed signings in either defence or attack this summer has sent fans into frustration before a ball has even been kicked, and pressure is on the boss to deliver.

But if there was ever a time that the fans needed a pick-me-up it’s now, and following their lengthy period of time off, a trio of players will return to training this week.

After capturing the hearts of quite a few nations at the Euro’s, Welshman Aaron Ramsey returned to London Colney on Friday afternoon to work on light fitness.

Whilst the rest of the team remain half way across the world on their tour of the US, the 25-year-old will be eyeing up a starting place in Arsenal’s competitive midfield.

And the good news keeps on coming, with recent Copa America winner Alexis Sanchez already back in the picture after cutting his holiday short to resume training.

It’s thought the winger is still nursing a slight foot injury picked up in that final against Argentina, but his willingness to get back fit and strong is apparent following this update.

Alexis linked up with the physio team in London on Thursday and will now work for as long as he can to ensure he’s fit and ready for the beginning of the new season.

And if that wasn’t enough to look forward to, Mesut Ozil will return to action on Monday morning, with the disappointment of the summer championships he’ll want an instant lift.

Ozil has enjoyed a good amount of time off but through his choice to call time on a holiday period, it shows he’s just as determined to make it into the starting squad.

Arsenal have a tough opening fixture against Liverpool on August 14th and the chances of having this trio back have now increased, but Wenger will have to be cautious.

As much as we’d all like to see our best players kick off the campaign together, fitness has to be the main concern as in the long run, we can’t afford as many injuries as last year.
