Arsenal transfers: New right-back target, Bissouma wants Arsenal, Madrid will sell Odegaard, £12m sale close

Throughout the summer we will be bringing you the latest Arsenal transfer news from across Europe. Find the latest below.

Madrid will sell Odegaard to Arsenal, but for €60m+

It seems Arsenal’s priority in attacking midfield is Martin Odegaard. The Norweigan has impressed Arteta in his short time at the club so far and Mikel wants to prioritise making this piece of the puzzle permanent – as reported by The Athletic last week. As well as Odegaard’s technical skills, he has leadership qualities, as demonstrated in his captaincy for the national team. Arsenal would have been worried about their prospects of signing Odegaard after Zidane was sacked, but now, according to Defensa Central, Madrid are ready to sell him. But only for offers above €60million. At about £52million, that seems a bit steep. At 22 he’s a sound investment though, I’d probably do the deal south of £40million, but would be reluctant to go higher.

Arsenal interested in signing Ajax defender Noussair Mazraoui

Arsenal are on the lookout for a new right-back this summer and according to DM Sport, Ajax’s Mazraoui is an option that interests the club.

Bissouma wants Arsenal move and Brighton want to sell

According to the Standard, Brighton are ready to sell Yves Bissouma this summer and the player favours a move to Arsenal over any other club. If that’s the case, what’s the hold up? Well, maybe Arsenal would like a different type of midfielder, at least that’s the thoughts of Fabrizio Romano

Matteo Guendouzi ‘about to sign for Marseille’ for around £12million

Arsenal appear to be about to make their first major sale of the summer. Guendouzi is set to join Marseille for €12m-€15m according to Le10Sport. Guendouzi failed to shine on loan at Hertha Berlin this season and after showing some poor attitude again, his value and potential suitors will have dropped. Marseille appear very strong on him though and look set to complete a deal. £12million may not seem a lot from where he was valued 24 months ago, but the Gunners will be pleased to be making a profit on their £8million signing, especially given the fact he has one year left on his contract. Time to move on and reinvest it.
