It’s ‘silly season’ and as we try to keep you up to date with all the latest rumours, we’ll be bringing you round-ups with hopefully some sense added to them. Make sure you’re following us on Twitter and Facebook to keep up to date with the inevitable influx of transfer rumours this month.

Cengiz Under €55million ‘bid rejected’ [Various]

Reports that seem to originate from Turkey appear to suggest that Arsenal have had a €55million bid rejected for Roma wide forward Cengiz Under. The Gunners have been giving the public impression that they have no money, but links to expensive young forwards in Nicolas Pepe and now Under appear to indicate otherwise. Under is a very talented 22-year-old player that would improve the clubs options, but right now, could that money be better spent in other areas of the pitch?

Arsenal exploring a deal for Nicolas N’Koulou  [Calcio Mercato]

There are some premium defenders potentially available, but the likes of Kalidou Koulibaly and Milan Skriniar are outside of the Gunners budget. Torino defender Nicolas N’Koulou is a player Arsenal could sign for a lot less, but the fans will be desperate for quality ahead of anything else. Is he an improvement on the Gunners current options? Yes. Is he world class? No. Perhaps Arsenal would be better to wait for the right man, rather than invest in anyone at this stage.

Arsenal make €16million bid for Real Madrid man [SPORT]

Spanish paper Sport have published a report that says Arsenal and Roma are interested in signing Keylor Navas and have even gone as far as to say that the Gunners have tabled a €16million euro bid for the Costa Rican international. The 32-year-old shot-stopper is one of the best in the world but has had to settle for a place on the bench since Thibaut Courtois arrived. Unai Emery is believed to think Bernd Leno still has a lot to learn and so with Petr Cech on his way out this summer, may turn to experienced stopper Navas who has nearly 100 caps for his country and nearly 100 games for Madrid – can he help the leaky defence and add some leadership the club is currently lacking?

Arsenal continue chase for £18million Ever Banega [Various]

Arsenal appear to still be interested in signing Argentinean midfielder Ever Banega. The Sevilla man has an £18million release clause, so despite being 30 years old, still looks good value considering his quality. Unai Emery is a big fan of the player and is believed to see him as a replacement for Aaron Ramsey, who is in talks with a number of European clubs.
