Considering Arsene Wenger’s comments and the latest transfer reports, it seems Arsenal are no longer actively pursuing a forward. However, according to reliable reports from Spain Arsenal could still sign Edinson Cavani this summer.
The Uruguayan has struggled to fulfil his potential at Paris Saint-Germain following his big money move to the French capital from Napoli. Arsene Wenger is a long term admirer of the 27-year-old, and if his current club do sign Angel di Maria, they may have to balance their books by offloading Cavani – who is likely to fetch around £45million. That’s a lot of money considering his age, but he is one of the best strikers in Europe and to get one of those costs big money.
A la espera de lo que suceda con Di María y el #PSG, el #Arsenal no descarta el fichaje de Cavani. Wenger quiere un 9 como el uruguayo.

The tweet above shows Spanish journalist Kike Marin saying Arsenal could sign Cavani if PSG were to complete a move for Angel di Maria. Kike Marin has a good record with transfers this summer and has been particularly accurate re: Arsenal affairs.
It seems farfetched, but so did signing Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil. My tip would be not to get too excited, but don’t completely right it off. If di Maria does complete a move, Cavani will more than likely be put on the market. If someone of that quality is available, it’s hard to see Arsene Wenger refusing to take up the chance to sign him. Cross your fingers.
