Arsenal are reportedly leading the chase to sign the Premier League’s most wanted man, Riyad Mahrez, who will consider his options once the season is over.

The 25-year-old is heavily tipped to scoop the PFA Player of the Year award following a standout season which has inevitably put his Leicester side at the summit.

Having already bagged 17 goals and 11 assists in all competitions this campaign, the Algerian international is attracting attention from some of Europe’s top clubs.

And despite The Foxes confirmed with a place in the Champions League next year, Mahrez and his agents are open to other options to settle a better move in the long-term.

And as we move into the business end of the season, it appears the Gunners are now beginning to get their priorities straight from the start ahead of a busy transfer window.

Reports from ESPN and the Metro have been surfacing for weeks now, but speculation is beginning to gather that Arsene Wenger is in pole position for the midfielder’s signature.

According to the rumours it appears Leicester are beginning to concede that their talisman won’t be sticking around too long even if they are crowned Premier League champions.

But that won’t exactly come as awful news for Claudio Ranieri who is now expected to cash in on his £250,000 signing, after the Algerian’s market price rocketed to around £35million.

It is believed that Wenger will want to seal a deal early to ensure his squad are well prepared to launch a serious attack in all major competitions following another disappointing campaign.

Insiders at the Emirates have stated that concentration is higher than ever to have a successful transfer window, and after Wenger confirmed he had a list of players prepared, speculation is only going to increase.
