Arsenal are preparing a £20million bid to sign AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli as the cash strapped Italian side are looking to sell. There are several places reporting this with the Mirror the most recent. Balotelli joined Milan just 18 months ago and has managed 30 goals in 54 games.
The explosive forward is still just 23 and has bags of top level of experience. His attitude is questionable, but it is certainly something that Arsene Wenger is capable of keeping under wraps. Milan bought Balotelli for £24million just 18 months ago from Manchester City and the player is reportedly keen on a return to the Premier League. The talented forward is unlikely to be worried about upsetting Manchester City fans with a switch to North London after he played for both Milan rivals.
Arsene Wenger tried to sign Balotelli from Inter Milan before he joined Manchester City. In 2009 the Frenchman told press:
“I consider Inter an excellent squad who can do really well in the Champions League. In particular I am keeping an eye out for Balotelli, a player I like very much. In my view he can be one of the best.”
