Arsenal Midfielder’s Agent Speaks Out As Rumours Of A Premier League Move Re-Surface

So here’s where we’re at… There’s just 16 days left of the summer transfer window and Arsenal have a pile of players they’re pushing out of the exit door.

And whilst it may seem like the Gunners are desperate to get rid of the deadwood that’s built up over the last year or so, one player’s agent is growing increasingly frustrated.

Rodrigo Fernandez Lovelle, the agent of Lucas Perez, isn’t afraid of speaking out and has once again revealed Arsenal are unwilling to find any wiggle room on their valuation of the 28-year-old.

Lucas joined from Deportivo just over under 12 months ago and has been treated terribly by both the club and Arsene Wenger, who has already admitted he will sell the striker during this window.

Fresh Arsenal understands that Newcastle remain in the running to sign Lucas but have several options that could be better going for in a financial sense.

And despite there being a bid of £10.9million still on the table from Lucas’ former side, it seems there’s been absolutely no progress in the sale of the Spaniard, with the asking price believed to be the main issue.

Lovelle spoke with Sky Sports News to try and get his client back in the newspapers and put pressure on Wenger to sell the unwanted forward before any new signings can be made:

I think the £10.9million that Deportivo La Coruna have offered Arsenal is a great deal. Deportivo received £12.7million when they sold him to them last summer.

They are giving everything to make this transfer possible. Lucas wants to play but he has a contract with Arsenal.

I am hopeful an agreement can be reached.

Deportivo have, and by the looks of things, will be Lucas’ number one destination this summer but with his options running short there’s still a lot that could happen as the window runs to a close.

One thing that is certain is his days in an Arsenal shirt are well and truly over following the arrival of Alex Lacazette, and the fact he has failed to play any minutes for the first-team during pre-season.
