The rumours on Flores’ loan have been out for a while with many fans scared they could be about to lose the 18-year-old in a similar way that Omari Hutchinson left earlier this month.
Reports first surfaced when Arteta was forced to take a calculated risk and leave behind all academy players, with only Reuell Walters making the journey on the US pre-season tour.
But despite the lack of time with the first team, Arsenal and Flores’ agent have managed to come to an agreement and he will now spend the entire 2022/23 campaign on loan.
It’s believed game time is the absolute key for Flores to support his development following a really positive season which saw him make 10 appearances in Premier League 2 after a call-up from the U18s side.
Flores is known for his ball carrying ability and can contribute via goals and assists so this really is an opportunity to try that out in a senior side at such a young age.
With just one year left on his professional contract at Arsenal, this could well be a season that defines his next steps with the club.
