Victor Wanyama has indicated his desire to secure a transfer to Arsenal this summer but rather than burning all bridges with his current side (cough, Raheem Sterling), he’s stated he remains happy on the South Coast with Southampton.

Wanyama, linked with a switch to North London in the past, said: “It would be nice to move to Arsenal. But at this moment such decisions can only be made by Southampton and that is where my concentration as a player is.”

Reasons for Arsenal signing Wanyama #1: to sing his name to the tune of bananas in pyjamas.

Moving on from developments earlier in the week that suggested Arsenal have restored their interest in Monaco ace Geoffrey Kondogbia, it’s now stated that the French international will become Arsenal’s prime target should they miss out on Morgan Schneiderlin.

Schneiderlin has gone from Arsenal’s front door to Manchester United in recent weeks, according to the press, as it appears Arsenal’s interest has cooled as they prefer a £25m move for the 22-year-old who ran rings around the Gunners during this season’s Champions League tie.

More twists are emerging in the Ilkay Gundogan transfer saga, as it appears it’s not as simple as previously thought. It was suggested Arsenal were out of the running, behind the likes of Bayern Munich and Barcelona, but the forecast has changed once again.

Whether Arsenal restore their interest genuinely remains to be seen, as the Gunners are linked with a host of midfielders from across Europe- and a bidding war for Gundogan could get very, very expensive and Arsenal will want to avoid that.

Spurs fans continue to be rattled on Twitter, as things this week have gone from Jack Wilshere’s chanting to Nabil Bentaleb publicly declaring his annoyance to the North London outfit. The 20-year-old Algerian wants a new deal- but nothing has been offered.

“I give everything on the pitch. I’ve been working really hard and it’s normal for me to want to get rewarded. We’ve been negotiating for nearly nine months now, since September, and it’s getting really long and, of course, I’m getting a little bit tired of it.”

Whether Bentaleb would be a good signing remains to be seen but it would be entertaining to sign the African starlet, just to rile the Spurs supporters.
