Arsenal Fans Urge Wenger To Go After £15m Cech Replacement

When it comes to Arsenal’s man between the sticks, it sometimes feels as if Wenger can never catch a break from the supporters.

After signing Petr Cech two years ago, near enough all of us felt the issues in goal were covered and focus could now turn to finding a solution to scoring goals at the other end.

However, this season the former Chelsea shot-stopper has picked up just six clean sheets and made a series of blunders that have a led to cheap goals against our Premier League rivals.

And with David Ospina breathing heavily down the 34-year-old’s neck, pressure is mounting on Wenger to rotate the number one with a man that has barely put a glove wrong this season.

Many question whether Cech is still at the best of his ability, and that’s not going to go away any time soon after it was revealed Joe Hart will be available this summer.

According to Times Sports’ Paul Hirst, the Manchester City goalkeeper is free to leave when he returns from his loan at Torino for a cut-price transfer fee of just £15million.

It’s a bit similar to the situation we found ourselves in when buying Cech, but at 29 Hart still has his best years ahead of him, as well as taking a break from English football.

Hart has always been linked with a move to the Emirates and this will ultimately come down to whether or not Guardiola will allow him to join a title rival next season.

It would certainly be a kick in the teeth for Ospina who Wenger has always rated as a world-class keeper, but should Arsenal pass up the chance to sign a man that was once considered to be the future of goalkeeping?
