Arsenal Fans Handed Huge Boost With This World-Class Star Set To Sign

So it was a pretty hectic transfer window, but it looks as if Arsenal are going to secure their best signing of the summer less than a week after deadline day.

Yes, the news we’ve all been waiting for is creeping closer after Mesut Ozil confirmed that contract negotiations have re-opened as he looks to extend his time at the Gunners.

We recently celebrated three years of Ozil being at the club after the assist-king was purchased for over £42million back in 2013, and the rest is history.

Since then it’s been everything we wanted and more from the German international, who has set the scene for times to come after the club broke their transfer fee to land the midfielder.

Ozil has a record himself which scared Arsenal fans originally, due to him not staying at one club for longer than three years, a stat that suggested he could be off.

However, his consistent love for this club looks to have taken priority over everything and now that the European Championships are over his attention has turned to contract talks.

Ozil’s current deal means his time runs out in North London in 2018, but it looks as if both he and Arsenal are in agreement that that time spell should be extended.

Whilst talking to German publication, Express, which has been quoted by Sky Sports, Ozil stated this:

I have a contract until 2018, we have had discussions but they were suspended for the Euro’s.

I wanted to focus at this time only on the national team. Now we look to continue the negotiations.

Eventually moving to the MLS could be an option, I have fun everywhere. My fans know that I like to spend my vacation in Los Angeles, because the city inspires me.

So his long-term future also looks to be something on the list to get sorted, but for now it looks as if we can call Ozil a Gunner for the foreseeable future.

Ozil has recently spoken out about taking the number 10 shirt from Jack Wilshere after the England international moved to Bournemouth on a season-long loan.
