Arsenal Could Have Chance To Sign £40million World Cup Winner This Summer

Long-term Arsenal transfer target Mario Gotze could be on the move this summer after his agent reportedly fell out with Bayern Munich.

Gotze is no doubt a quality player, but has perhaps failed to realise his huge potential at Munich since he joined from Borussia Dortmund two years ago. Being a star player at Arsenal could appeal to him – rather than one of many in Germany.

German media outlet BILD now report that his agent has fallen out with the club and the World Cup winning midfielder could leave this summer.

Volker Struth, Gotze’s agent told press:

“Of course I would have liked if Mario had felt more support in one or two situations,” he said.

“I am fully convinced that when Mario feels this support, it is easier for him to show his incredible potential. Then he is one of the best players in the world.”

He’s hardly ‘slammed’ Bayern there – as some report, but it’s clear that the agent and perhaps player are unhappy in Germany. Gotze still managed 28 starts in the Bundesliga and 9 in the Champions League. At 23 and with enormous potential, Gotze will want to be a central figure at the club – not on the fringes.

Arsenal are in no obvious need for a new attacking midfielder, but Gotze could potentially play as a left winger – with Lukas Podokski recently leaving the club. Gotze is capable of playing anywhere in the three attacking midfield positions of our 4-2-3-1, another versatile player of incredible quality would be ideal for Arsene Wenger.

Gotze has spoken highly of Arsenal in the past and there’s no doubt that if he were to become available – the Gunners would be one of the favourites to sign him – although he would probably cost at least as much as Mesut Ozil – who set us back over £40million.
