According to reports coming out of France Arsenal have had a £5.5million bid for PSG midfielder Adrien Rabiot accepted.
The 19-year-old midfielder has fallen out with the French club as he wants to play more first team football. The likes of Chelsea and Juventus have also been in talks with the the player, but Arsenal appear to have taken the lead in the chase by having a bid accepted.
Rabiot will now talk to Arsenal and it is thought playing time will be a key factor in his decision to join the club. Rabiot is a defensive midfielder and despite being young, is very powerful and strong. The Gunners have Mathieu Flamini and Mikel Arteta in that position, but Rabiot is of a different ilk. He managed 27 appearances in all competitions for the Ligue 1 Champions last season.
Arsene Wenger is looking for a young replacement for the ageing Mikel Arteta whose contract expires next season, and a renewal is in doubt. Rabiot is young but brings a good physical presence to his game and has big potential.
Rabiot stands at 6ft 2 and has managed three caps for the French U-21 National team. According to a report in Le10Sport, contract talks have stalled completely and with the teenagers contract expiring in 2015, he will be hot property this summer as clubs look to take advantage.
