Agent Confirms Arsenal Leader’s Position At The Club Is “Secure” Amid Doubts

The phrase ‘you get what you wish for’ couldn’t be less apparent when it comes to Arsenal fans, who have some of the highest expectations in the country.

And following a series of shaky performances, a hefty majority of the Gunners faithful have called for Arsene Wenger to axe goalkeeper Petr Cech.

Arsenal’s number one man between the sticks has been at fault for a number of goals this season, managing just seven clean sheets in 25 games this season.

But despite the growing concerns over whether or not the 34-year-old can still compete at the same level of his ‘Chelsea days’ it seems the Czech international is going nowhere.

That’s because Cech’s agent has confirmed to the media that there’s no way his client will be sold this summer, and fully expects him to see out his contract.

In comments quoted by the Daily Star, Viktor Kolar even suggested that Cech could stay on with the club to find a coaching role within the goalkeeping staff:

Petr’s position at the club is very secure and a summer transfer can be ruled out.

Petr will be a part of Arsenal until at least the end of his current contract and I’m convinced he will continue to have a leadership role in the team.

Coupled with the possible return of fan favourite Wojciech Szczesny, the uprise of David Ospina and Damian Martinez’s comments; Cech’s position is under threat.

Many believe he’s been living off of his experience to earn his place in the starting XI and go against Wenger’s belief of using him in the Premier League.

Arsenal currently have a rotation system in place between Cech and Ospina, but more names have been added to the list of possible competition.

Joe Hart’s status is unclear as he looks to end his Man City nightmare permanently, whilst young shot-stopper Jordan Pickford is highly rated by Wenger.
