1) Lukas Podolski
Lukas Podolski has never been in favour with Arsene Wenger, but it seems his time at Arsenal is now really coming to an end.
The 29 year old offers a goalscoring threat, but is too often a passenger in games and some fans have even suggested it is like playing with 10 men when Podolski starts. He did go through a great spell of form when he was assisting and scoring for fun last season. However he seems to have become even more lazy off the ball and his heart isn’t in it anymore. His legs will be tiring too, considering how young he was when his career exploded. The German is a nice guy, but he is not good enough anymore to be fighting for a first team spot.
It is thought a deal was agreed for Podolski to leave the club in the summer, but Giroud’s injury saw the deal stall. His wages of around £100,000 per week are a lot considering he barely starts now for the Gunners. It is unlikely he will start many games between now and January, and that is likely to see Arsene Wenger and the player call time on his short Arsenal career. Good luck to him.
