Reports: Arsenal ‘advancing’ in talks to make incredible £150m double attacking signing

Something major is stirring in north London. As the summer transfer window opens with a bang, Arsenal are quietly pushing ahead with two ambitious deals that could reshape their attack for years to come. While nothing is signed yet, key negotiations are in motion — and both moves are rapidly gaining momentum.

According to trusted journalist Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal are now advancing in talks to sign Benjamin Šeško, with discussions progressing positively between the club, RB Leipzig, and the player’s representatives. Some reports even suggest that Šeško has already agreed a long-term contract — four years plus an option for a fifth — showing his clear desire to join Mikel Arteta’s side. The fee remains under discussion, but Arsenal are optimistic.

Šeško, 22, scored 18 goals last season for Leipzig and is seen as a long-term answer at striker. With a deal around £60m likely, Arsenal would be securing one of Europe’s most promising No.9s at a critical moment in their squad evolution – one who would improve the team now and for many years to come.

Further signs that a move could be imminent have emerged this week. As reported by Ryan Taylor, Leipzig have requested the Slovenian FA to omit Šeško from upcoming international fixtures due to an ongoing knee issue. The 22-year-old has been following a rehabilitation programme since the Bundesliga season ended, with the German club reportedly keen to protect the player amid fears an injury could derail a summer transfer.

But that’s not all. Arsenal are also stepping up their pursuit of Rodrygo Goes, the 24-year-old Brazilian winger currently at Real Madrid. As reported by Hand of Arsenal, Rodrygo is now Arsenal’s number one winger target for the summer. Rodrygo’s role is increasingly uncertain at Madrid, with his preferred position on the left, also the positional preference of Vinicius Jr. and Kylian Mbappe.

Madrid are demanding at least €80million, and a final deal could be closer to €100million. Arsenal, under the leadership of sporting director Andrea Berta, are prepared to make a major financial offer to tempt the player and the club. Key Arsenal players have already spoken to Rodrygo directly, and the player is expected to hold talks with new Madrid manager Xabi Alonso to clarify his preferred position — as a left winger, which Arsenal can offer.

These two potential deals — worth around £150million combined — signal Arsenal’s clear intent to challenge for major trophies in 2025/26. With Champions League ambitions and Premier League glory in their sights, the Gunners look ready to spend big and smart.
