Report: Arsenal closing in on mega treble contract deals

Arsenal could be about to announce an exciting triple contract extension according to a report in The Evening Standard.

The first is Bukayo Saka. The Englishman has been perhaps Arsenal’s best player this season and still just 21 years of age, Saka has the world at his feet.

As one of the best young players in Europe, it would be a huge coup for Arsenal to secure the signature of Saka, who looks set to sign a five year contract, worth more than £200,000 per week.

And Arsenal are set to follow that up with signing up one of the best young defenders in Europe in William Saliba. The Frenchman is still just 22 and was crucial to Arsenal’s form in the first half of the season that saw them take a commanding lead at the top of the table. His absence has been costly and Mikel Arteta will be determined to keep him at the club in the long term and play a part in the Champions League for the club next season.

Finally Arsenal want to secure another young talent. Aaron Ramsdale. Signed a couple of years ago now, the 24-year-old is set to be rewarded for his fine form this season with a significant pay rise. Bought from Championship side Sheffield United, Ramsdale is said to earn just £60,000 a week currently and has two years left on his contract, which includes an option for Arsenal to extend the deal by a further year. But Arsenal are keen to reward Ramsdale for his performances this season and move his wage closer to that of a key member of the first team. Ramsdale is also likely to sign a five year deal.

If Arsenal can get these three contracts sorted they can then focus on some incomings and shifting players out.

The first major departure looks set to be Granit Xhaka, who turns 31 in September. The Switzerland International is set to join Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen in a deal worth around £13million.
