Arsenal transfers: 6 new signings targeted, ‘serious interest’ in Tapsoba and Locatelli, 3 midfielders close to exit

Throughout the summer we will be bringing you the latest Arsenal transfer news from across Europe. Find the latest below.

Arsenal targeting at least six new additions

According to a report in The Athletic this morning, a massive overhaul is coming at Arsenal. The Gunners are thought to be looking to sign at least six new players. A goalkeeper, right-back, left-back, central defender, central midfielder, and an attacking midfielder. This is six and doesn’t include another central midfielder (that would surely be needed if Granit Xhaka were to leave). It also doesn’t include a new striker, which The Atheltic list as another possibility in their report. It looks like plenty will be happening at the club this summer, so stay close to Fresh Arsenal’s website and socials to keep up to date.

Arsenal interested in signing Sassulo’s Locatelli

A club insider told Fresh Arsenal that the Gunners have an interest in signing Sassuolo midfielder Manuel Locatelli as a replacement for Xhaka if he leaves this summer. The much-coveted Italian won’t come cheap though and there will be plenty of competition to sign him, with the likes of Juventus and Manchester City previously linked. Arsenal are thought to be admiring a number of central midfielders this summer, but Locatelli presents an interesting option for the club.

Arsenal have ‘serious interest in signing Edmond Tapsoba from Bayer Leverkusen

Arsenal are said to have serious interest in bringing one of the best young defenders in Europe to the club, according to The Atheltic. The 22-year-old is highly rated in Germany and plays with a maturity beyond his years. William Saliba is set to return to the club but question marks remain over his relationship with Mikel Arteta. If Arsenal could keep Saliba and Gabriel and bring in Tapsoba, it would mean the central defensive spots at the club are sorted for the next 5-10 years (pending any sales)!

Three central midfielders close to exit

Arsenal already have work to do in midfield this summer but it looks like they may have even more to do with the news that three of their players in that position are set to leave. Granit Xhaka and Matteo Guendouzi are in advanced talks to leave with Roma and Marseille respectively, according to Fabrizio Romano, whilst Lucas Torreira is also for sale.
