Wenger Talks Lemar & Mbappe After Confirming He Wants More Signings

Arsene Wenger isn’t holding back with his summer business and has confirmed the club are still looking to bring in top players.

After getting hold of Alexandre Lacazette and Sead Kolasinac for a combined £52million, it seems the boss is only searching for big names.

Step in Thomas Lemar and Kylian Mbappe, two of the most talked about players in recent months who Arsenal have been heavily linked with.

With a lack of matches, the press haven’t had the chance to grill Wenger on his opinions on both players but it’s now confirmed he’s very interested.

Lemar seems the more likely of the two to join switch to North London but Monaco are playing hard-ball over their man by slapping an £80m price tag on him.

Meanwhile 18-year-old Mbappe is being teased into offers to some of the biggest clubs in the world, meaning the decision is literally in his hands.

Whilst talking to the media over in Australia ahead of our first pre-season game on Thursday, Wenger didn’t want to let too much slip…

(On Lemar) That’s all speculation at the moment, there is nothing really concrete about any signing. He’s a player that we have looked at, but the rest is only speculation.

(On Mbappe) He’s a player who can choose where he wants to go. There are not many players with that kind of luck, because he’s only 18 years of age and has the whole of Europe rolling out a red carpet for him.

Nobody can say they are not interested in a player of that calibre because he has such immense quality at 18 years of age. All the clubs are open and interested in him.

So there’s the update we’ve all been looking for. Nothing huge, but definitely something to get excited about because it’ll be a huge two months coming.

Transfer business is likely to take a back seat for the next couple of weeks as pre-season becomes the new priority for the squad of players currently down under.
