Arsenal have been handed a nasty injury update ahead of their crunch game against Liverpool this weekend, and this time it’s a heavyweight.
Reports are popping up across Twitter suggesting that Mesut Ozil will miss Saturday afternoon’s Premier League match-up through an illness.
Despite being pictured on a night out with the squad on Tuesday evening, Ozil reportedly didn’t feature in training on Wednesday morning and will be assessed further.
It’s not the first time the German maestro has been left out of the squad through illness as back in January he was ruled out for just over two weeks.

Alex Iwobi was chosen to deputise in the midfielders absence and performed well when given the chance to run the show in the number 10 position.
However, despite the recent faith Wenger has put in the 20-year-old, many supporters are asking for Iwobi to be dropped in place of someone more deserving of their chance.
Lucas Perez is a firm favourite to start on the wings, whilst Aaron Ramsey could return from injury to fill in at CAM following Ozil’s absence.
Another option for Wenger to look at is Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who has been a shining light amongst the gloom of Arsenal’s form in recent weeks after switching to a more central role.
One thing is for sure though, that many believe Ozil’s illness could be a blessing in disguise having failed to ‘turn up’ in big away games over the season.
Arsenal are being chased by the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool in the race for a Champions League spot, so three points could be massive this weekend.
