Edinson Cavani could finally be on his way to the Premier League, with sources in France indicating PSG could be willing to sell the Uruguayan in the January transfer window.

The French side are reportedly willing to sell with Arsenal and Manchester United listed as two of four clubs who may be interested in his signature. The source in France is ‘BuzzSport’ a website which I cannot remember breaking much exclusive or correct news, but this might be a story worth keeping an eye on and here’s why..

Arsene Wenger was clearly interested in bringing in Karim Benzema in the summer, so he seems to still want a world-class striker at the club. When you consider how many chances Mesut Ozil is creating, we need to be scoring more and someone of Cavani’s ilk could make all the difference.

At 29, Cavani’s price-tag of over £40million makes him an unlikely signing for Arsenal, who rarely invest large amounts in ‘older’ players. But Wenger knows the price of securing the Premier League title, and if he thinks Cavani would win us the league – I’d have no doubt he’d pay the asking price, if the Uruguayan forward is indeed available.

I’m sure Manchester United would not hesitate to pay his price-tag if he became available, especially when you consider their lack of goals up front and the fact they happily shelled out circa. £50million for Anthony Martial. If Arsenal are serious about winning the league then they may want to move fast on this one.
