Arsenal fans were given some hope of a big signing today when Karim Benzema hinted at a potential move this summer.
Benzema has reportedly left Madrid’s pre-season tour and has flown someone on a private jet. On Tuesday he posted a picture of him on a private jet with the caption: ‘leave the past in the past’ with a hashtag that translates to ‘#lookingtothefuture’

Benzema, 27 is now not with the rest of the Madrid squad who have flown to China, so is he on the move? And is it to Arsenal?
Fichajes in Spain have also reported today that the Gunners are readying a bid of around £40million for Benzema.
Benzema, who turns 28 this year will not want to sit on the bench at this stage of his career and he has already spoken to Arsene Wenger about a move to The Emirates.
We have been told by a reliable source that Madrid have told Arsenal Benzema is their’s for £60million. That’s a little high to say the least. Whilst Benzema would complete this squad, he’s not worth that. That valuation comes from Germany because Madrid want to replace Benzema with Marco Reus and they have been quoted the same amount to sign the Borussia Dortmund man. Arsenal are confident of striking a deal for Benzema as the window continues, we’ll see what happens.
Arsenal are also in negotiations with Palermo over a loan deal for Joel Campbell. The Costa Rican looks set for another temporary move away from The Emirates, with Wenger keen to clear the decks, perhaps for Benzema..
