Arsenal are closing in on the signing of Cech but it will more than likely mean the end of the road for Szczesny. The Polish stopper has endured a season to forget for The Gunners and it may very well end in him leaving the club.

Although Wenger has faith in Szczesny, he views the chance to sign Cech as too good to pass up and will not want to keep Szczesny as a second choice due to his reported £90,000 per week wages. David Ospina is more likely to stay at the club as he is thought to be more content as a number 2 and earns significantly less than Szczesny.

Despite claiming he wants to stay at Arsenal last month, Szczesny will want to leave if Cech arrives. The Pole is not content with a place on the bench and is expected to leave permanently, although there has been interest from Southampton in loaning him.
