Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has tipped a Liverpool and Chelsea star for success in the PFA Player Of The Year Awards, when quizzed by reporters.
The Frenchman was confronted on who believed would win the award and he stated that he believes it will go to either Eden Hazard or Raheem Sterling.
Wenger’s inclusion of Sterling is certainly intriguing, given reports linking the Gunners with a move for the England international this summer.
When asked to name his favourites for the award, Wenger replied:
“Hazard…. Sterling…. Maybe I forget some. Maybe Hazard.”
Whether Arsenal make a move or not remains to be seen but the comments from Wenger will raise speculation.
Wenger’s exclusion of Alexis Sanchez from his comments may be surprising- but he was asked to leave out players from his own club, which explains why the Chilean was heralded.
Alexis Sanchez is one of six players nominated for the PFA Player’s Player Of The Year award, along with Diego Costa, Hazard, Sterling, David De Gea and Philippe Coutinho.
