Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger wants the 21-year-old French striker to gain valuable experience at a Premier League club and would rather not loan him abroad.

Earlier at Arsenal’s press conference ahead of the game against Stoke City on Sunday, Wenger spoke about Sanago’s situation. He said: “My preference is for England. He [Yaya Sanogo] will go to a Premier League club.”

Bruce is thin on options in the forward department and is eyeing up a move for Arsenal’s out of favour forward.

The Tigers boss admitted that he is monitoring Sanogo’s situation.

He said: “It’s been made clear that the boy might be available on loan and it’s something we’ll have a look at.

“We have got four or five things going, like most Premier League clubs. We’ll have to wait and see but, as usual, it will probably happen in the last couple of days of the  window. Everyone’s jockeying for position.

“If we can bring a couple in to bolster the squad, that would be great.”

Bruce will have to compete with other Premier League clubs for Sanago’s signature with Crystal Palace being one of the clubs in the race to sign him.

A move to the Premier League would do Sanogo a world of good and would give him the confidence and belief to go out and score valuable goals.
