Report: Arsenal Have Second Bid Turned Down For Defensive Midfielder

Arsenal have had a second bid turned down for Legia Warsaw defensive midfielder Krystian Bielik according to Sky Sports. Their opening bid of £1.6million was swiftly rejected and it is unknown what figure was turned down this time.

With Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini both nearing the end of their time at the Emirates, the Gunners are in the market for at least one defensive midfielder. One more established player who could start immediately, and another youth player. Bielik would be the youth player, who has a lot of potential.

Arsenal fans will have hoped for more movement on a more established defensive midfielder, but Bielik is rated very highly and it seems Arsene Wenger is determined not to miss out on him.

17 year old Bielik only joined Warsaw last year for just £9,500, but he has already broken into the first team and caught the attention of some of Europe’s top clubs. The public nature of Arsenal’s first two beds will have no doubt angered the Gunners, as it seems to have been linked from Warsaw – perhaps to raise more interest and therefore the price of the player.

Wenger signed Woijech Szczesny from Legia Warsaw in 2006, when the Pole was just 16. He’ll hope that the history between the clubs can help the Gunners complete a deal.
