Arsene Wenger approved a deal to see Lukas Podolski join Inter Milan on loan. The deal was completed on Saturday and it could see the German join Inter for £5million on a permanent deal in the summer.

Most Arsenal fans were sad to see the 29 year old leave, as he was one of the most clinical players at the club. He had a great attitude off the pitch, but some questioned if his head was in the right place when he was on the pitch. Nobody can deny his goalscoring ability, but his work-rate and off the ball movement did not make him the perfect fit for Arsenal in his two years at the Emirates. Another reason Wenger might have wanted to move him on is due to his large wages, believed to be around £95,000 per-week.
Here’s how Twitter reacted to Podolski’s departure:
Would rather keep Podolski than sign Cavani

Classy message from Podolski. A player who will always get a warm welcome when ever or if ever he returns to play against the club

The only explanation for letting Podolski & Sanogo go with our injury record is pic.twitter.com/GwGHrt9gqK

Podolski's social media game paints a rosy picture of his character & personality. Convinced some members of the squad didn't warm to him.

This is why letting Podolski go is a mistake. His best game in an Arsenal-shirt: 1 goal & 3 assists vs West Ham: https://t.co/nP7KmCRof5
