3 – Alexis Sanchez vs Manchester City (13th September)
The arrival of the little Chilean saw one further step into the depths that we should be aiming for. £35 million paid, £35 million already paid off. The sensation that one player has brought to a single club speaks volumes about his ability, and a key highlight so far was his wonder strike against the Blue Moon. A tenacious performance saw Arsenal turn things around in style in the second half after a slow start. Wilshere levelled us up exquisitely before Alexis drove us into the lead. As Kompany headed clear, it was met by the head of previous goalscorer Wilshere as the Englishman shunted a header back into the penalty box. City failed to clear their lines, and a poor offside trap was deployed. Falling onto Alexis Sanchez right boot, a side-footed volley left Hart motionless as the ball struck the top corner in a flash. Alexis wheeled off in jubilation, shirt off and on his knees in front of the crowd. Passion exerted, we saw a first glimpse of what was yet to come from our own, little magician.
