The situation regarding Alexis remains unchanged as the Gunners are publicly stating he is not for sale today unless a massive offer comes in or a player plus cash offer. Of course, Raheem Sterling has been linked in a swap deal, but reports now suggest that Sterling will not be included in any offer from Manchester City. At this stage it looks like City are only prepared to offer a large cash amount and Arsenal will have to find a replacement from elsewhere…

Mahrez was thought to be a possible replacement for Alexis, but the Algerian is not heading to Arsenal according to BBC’s David Ornstein. Leicester City have also just insisted that they have received no new bids for Mahrez, but he is expected to leave today. Arsenal appear to view Mahrez as one of a few options to replace Alexis if he does make his move to Manchester.

But Arsenal’s preferred target today, should Alexis leave, appears to be Draxler. The German has long been wanted by Arsenal and Arsene Wenger and as a good friend of Mesut Ozil, he may be persuaded to move to The Emirates on deadline day. Paris Saint-Germain are said to be open to the idea of selling the player for around £40million after they completed the signings of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

Mustafi is apparently not wanted and doesn’t particularly want to be at Arsenal, but according to various sources, the German will now stay at the club after a move to Inter Milan collapsed.

As a consequence of Mustafi staying at the club, Evans will no longer be pursued by the Gunners according to the BBC. It looks like Arsenal will make no further defensive additions, despite the sale of Gabriel and the uncertainty of Calum Chambers and Mustafi.
