2. Togetherness
Since the departure of the traitorous Robin Van Persie, Arsène Wenger has managed to keep the players he wants at the club. There was a wobble with Theo Walcott, but in the end, he stayed, and this is incredibly important for three reasons. The first is that it creates consistency. The team isn’t chopped and changed constantly and there becomes a sense of regularity and serenity amongst the players.
Consistency ultimately promotes team cohesion, and team cohesion is especially important in a team such as Arsenal. On the occasions when we play over-elaborate football, each player has to know exactly where his teammate will be and a sense of unity aids that. The Arsenal boys gave an excellent demonstration of this against Norwich, and Jack Wilshere’s goal went on to win goal of the season.
Finally, what results from this consistency and familiarity is team spirit. Team spirit seems to have been at an all time high this season and a positive atmosphere is integral to players playing their best football.
