5. Angel Di Maria
Di Maria helped Real Madrid to two cup successes with an assist in the Copa Del Rey final and a superb run in the Champions league final to set up Gareth Bale to turn the game around. In the La Liga season, Carlo Ancelotti decided to play the Argentine in a more central role as he can fully show his work rate and express himself more in the middle of the field. However with Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo improving every season I can’t see a way back for Angel DI Maria onto the wings and with Isco, Illarramendi, Xabi Alonso, Modric and Sami Khedira it is going to be very difficult to get into that midfield on a consistent basis and a player like Di Maria needs to be playing week in week out.
Argentina have a fairly straight forward group with Iran, Nigeria and Bosnia, so we should be able to see Di Maria at his best. The winger would add so much to Arsenal in my opinion, not only would he add to our list of quality midfielders but he can provide accelerating pace and drive to the left wing, with Theo Walcott on one wing and Di Maria on the other, we would look very dangerous on the counter attack.
With Real Madrid lining up a £90 million pound deal for Luis Suarez and a debt from the signing of Gareth Bale the European champions will need to sell and reports from Spain suggest that they would sell the Argentine for around £35-£45 million.
