Arsenal have added quality to their team this summer and could yet sign more players. This is all well and good but it does mean the squad becomes crowded and some youngsters can be neglected. Here’s 5 players I feel would benefit from some time out on loan.
1. Francis Coquelin
Having had a disappointing season with Freiburg the French U21 international utility player will once again be on the loan agenda for Arsene Wenger. Having only made 24 appearances for Freiburg in all competitions, Coquelin’s development stagnated and the newspaper Bild ranked Coquelin as the 3rd worst player in the Bundesliga during the early parts of last season. A string of impressive performances in both the 2011-12 and the 2012-2013 season for Arsenal have highlighted both the quality and versatility of Coquelin. Given a loan chance in the top flight of English football would no doubt benefit the Frenchman and help to develop what could be a valuable asset for Arsenal plans in the future.
