Theo Walcott: £25m
Reports state Arsenal will reignite contract negotiations with Theo Walcott in the next few weeks but it needs to be decided whether the benefits are worth it. A potential £25m for the England winger would go a long way and it’s a decent amount for a fringe star.
He hasn’t shown the credentials recently to be the striker Arsenal need, whilst it’s unlikely he will oust Alexis Sanchez from a wide position. With Mesut Ozil, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Serge Gnabry, Santi Cazorla and others in the fold, perhaps it’s best to part ways?
The concern though is where he would end up, with his likely destination being Liverpool- a direct rival to the Gunners. Walcott joining the Merseyside outfit would undoubtably come back to bite the Gunners and he is the sort of player who could take the Reds to the next level.
