The 18-year-old that burst into life against Wolfsburg last pre-season, showcasing fine skill and having the confidence to take on players such as Kevin De Bruyne, Jeff Reine-Adelaide is a very talented youngster in the Arsenal set up who will be keen to impress again this season.

After his marvellous display that had Arsenal fans raving about the young Frenchman, Wenger said;
“Reine-Adelaide is something special you know. He is a great talent and when he came on you could see that – 17 years old let’s not forget that. In fact, I don’t remember how I played at 17 but I didn’t play like that!”

‘Something special’ is not a phrase that a veteran manager like Wenger would throw around without reason.

Reine-Adelaide is a clear attacker and has many traits to his game, a series of step-overs caught the eye that day but watching him play for the U21’s he has a lot more to his game than some fancy skill.

Reine-Adelaide is very quick, comfortable with the ball at his feet and has a real confidence about his ability, standing over six-foot-tall and relatively well built he is able to protect the ball which can be a nightmare for the opposing team.

Like Jack Wilshere, Reine-Adelaide likes to pick up the ball and have a real go at defences and has managed to prove that time, and time again playing for the U21 side.

‘Jeff’ is a special talent, very special, and he is one of the most technical gifted players amongst the youth at Arsenal, he likes to cut in and pass killer balls and try and create chances but isn’t afraid to have a go himself.

Reine-Adelaide has the likes of Wilshere and Cazorla ahead of him in the pecking order but with Cazorla getting of age an introduction to the first team could be imminent.
