3 Things We Learned About Arsenal In 3-0 Win Against Swansea

3 – Different Setup For Bayern Test

Following the injury crisis at Sheffield Wednesday, all fans can think about is how we’ll cope with a Bayern side that have recently welcomed back Arjen Robben.

And despite the final score at Swansea, not a lot can be said for the first-half performance the Gunners put together as they failed to get into the game.

The passing didn’t look to be flowing and if it wasn’t for some last ditch defending or controversial offside calls, Arsenal could’ve been looking at a very different situation.

To add to the concerns, the bench featured just one attacking player in young winger, Alex Iwobi, who will be overwhelmed to feature on Wednesday night.

Saying that, it means Wenger will now need to adapt his squad based on the objective of the night, and that is to come away from the Allianz Arena with at least a point.

Whether that means playing five at the back with Gibbs or Gabriel coming into the starting picture, the Gunners may have to set up defensively to ensure the backline isn’t broken down.

If we do stick to the same lineup as today, which is probably the more likely of the options, then Bayern will know exactly how to target us.

Most of the play will be dictated down our left hand side anyway, with Alexis, Monreal and Robben all featuring on that flank it will be the focal point for both sides.

By no means will Joel Campbell have an easy night, but his involvement with going forward will have to be sharp and productive because he’s got Douglas Costa on his toes.

However we line up, it will be vital to play as we did in the home tie and look to break on the counter with Giroud holding up most of the play.
