2. Lukas Podolski and Joel Campbell should get more game time.
A common feature of this season is seeing Lukas Podolski and Joel Campbell deployed from the bench in the closing stages of games. This was again the case last night, with positive results. 29-year-old German international Podolski ended up bagging the winner and Costa Rican forward Joel Campbell was a breath of fresh air when he came on. Both are said to be frustrated by the lack of first-team football, albeit they have gone about airing their frustrations in different ways. Podolski is known for being a bit sluggish and unwilling to properly defend on occasions, but he is probably Arsenal’s best finisher, and deserves a chance to show Wenger what he can do. Campbell’s cameo appearances, as well as his stand-out performances in the World Cup, signal that he is a talented individual, who, in my opinion, has justified a run in the team, particularly as some current first-team players aren’t performing well enough to warrant starting.
