2. Alex Song
Alex Song, the ex-Arsenal midfielder who is currently on loan to West Ham from Barcelona, doesn’t need much of an introduction. The 27-year-old Cameroonian international, who has earned 47 caps since 2005, was a rising star at Arsenal and during his last season (2011-12) Song partnered with then-striker Robin van Persie and provided 12 assists. One of these assists was to Arsenal legend Thierry Henry in the Third-Round FA Cup match against Leeds United in January 2012. Song has excellent passing skills but sometimes lacks concentration. He has also been known to be quick to temper – his last outburst being in the World Cup which potentially led to him losing out on a spot playing for Cameroon in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations. Only last month the Daily Mail stated “West Ham have risen to a surprising fifth in the Premier League table since Song’s arrival at Upton Park.” Though Song admits to his passion for Arsenal has vowed to set that to one side when the two teams meet up in their forthcoming London derby.
