2. Kieran Gibbs Is Quality
Arsenal & England left Kieran Gibbs, was absolutely brilliant. The 25 year old left back is underrated by many and this game begged the question, why? The team sheet was released and it looked like the electric Aubameyang and Polish fullback Piszczek would be going down Gibbs’ side. However, the Englishman responded through fantastic defensive & offensive play. On the defence, he was bombarded with attack after attack, with Piszczek aiming to overlap. Gibbs was aided by Sanchez in both attack & defence, however Gibbs’ defence shift was more recognisable. Gibbs dealt with the devastating pace of Aubameyang and even joined the attack when possible. He also got back and neutralised any counterattack’s produced by Dortmund. I hope many people recognise Gibbs’ effort in this game and hopefully gets the plaudits that he fully deserved against Dortmund.
