3 Key Games In Arsenal’s Title Charge

Arsenal maintained their slim title hopes with a narrow victory over Burnley yesterday, closing the gap on league – their eighth successive league victory. However, there are three games out of the remaining six, which will certainly define the club’s title winning credentials.

In any case, every match now is key but this one above all is probably the most crucial in Arsenal’s title charge, depending on the gap. Chelsea hold a promising cushion at the top after overcoming QPR at Loftus Road, to stretch the gap to 7 points at the top, with another game in hand against Manchester United to play, before the London rivals face off in two weeks time.

Arsenal’s title hopes hinge on the leaders’ results as well as their own, because its Chelsea who hold all the cards in this title race – it’s theirs to lose. So it goes without saying Arsene Wenger will be looking to inflict his first ever victory over Mourinho, since the Portuguese’ first arrival to England 11 years ago.

Most importantly, the size of this match depends on the result against Chelsea and United. Arsenal will be hoping, praying, wishing that the Blues are stopped in their tracks by being disallowed to widen the gap even further.

But Arsenal’s hopes of lifting their first league crown in over a decade is still very optimistic at this point. Bottom line though, if they fail to beat Jose Mourinho’s side, that will surely be the end of the argument.
