Javi Martinez
The stand-out, golden name that we’d all love at Arsenal is Javi Martinez. The Basque midfielder is incredibly talented and is criminally underused at Bayern Munich. In Bavaria, he is largely used at centre-back, where is he effective, but by far the best position is defensive midfielder.
When he featured for Athletic Bilbao, Martinez stole the show and displayed all the talents you want a young defensive midfielder to display, hence his hefty price-tag when he moved to the Bundesliga giants. Under Pep Guardiola though, he isn’t guaranteed first-team football and it would be a major shame to see Martinez’ career wasted.
Arsenal will have to bid high for the services of Martinez but if they can convince Bayern Munich into a sale than it shouldn’t be too difficult to convince Martinez to move to North London, as he’d be a regular name on the starting line-up and could develop into a real star at the Emirates. The most unlikely of these players listed- but definitely the pick of the bunch.
