If the chase for Cech’s signature fails, Iker Casillas should be Arsenal’s second option.
The Spaniard is arguably one of the best goalkeepers of his generation, having been at Real Madrid his entire career so far. Like Cech, he has considerable amount of league winning experience, with 5 La Liga titles to his name and 3 Champions League trophies, not to mention a World Cup medal.
He and Cech are the same calibre of talent and experience Arsenal have lacked in the dressing room. However, Casillas did endure a horrible World Cup campaign last summer and seems overall a player in decline, but the trust in someone like him would be greater than in Szczesny.
