3 Changes Arsenal Must Make For FA Cup Final

Striker: Giroud in for Welbeck

It’s a tough one to pick, but when it comes down to how the strikers line up, Giroud gets the nod on this occasion.

Welbeck started on Saturday afternoon and it wasn’t exactly the performance we were looking for in the final third.

Now, of course I’m not putting this down to one single performance, but I feel Welbeck can offer so much more when coming off of the bench.

His work rate and energy is second to none out there, and he’s a cracking little player to have on the bench when things just aren’t clicking.

If for some reason it does go to extra time again, then Welbeck can test some tired legs on the left or right hand side of midfield, or even playing as a two with Giroud.

What Giroud gives you is control and composure, he is the man who can settle into the opening of a game and dictate the midfield play by holding up the ball.

With a strike force of Alexis, Ozil and Cazorla behind him, you can be sure that the Frenchman will pick up a goal or two against a defence who have been bullied pretty much all season.

His goalscoring form is on point at the moment, and if he continues his impressive performances then Wenger has no choice than to start him.

Ultimately, what I’m saying is to drop Welbeck because he offers more as a substitute, and when playing an unpredictable side like Villa you need players like him.
