1. Edinson Cavani
Edinson Cavani is perhaps the most unlikely potential acquisition this summer. However, with rumours circulating about his desire to leave PSG this summer, a move to the Gunners should not be ruled out. Cavani is a world-class forward, but has struggled slightly in France due to the presence of a certain Zlatan Ibrahimović.
Despite an indication that new signing Alexis Sánchez could be used as a striker this season, many Arsenal fans are keen for the Gunners to add another striker to their ranks, should Alexis be used on the left-wing, which some fans would prefer. Cavani would provide more of a physical presence up front than Alexis, which may be beneficial due to the style of football in the Premier League.
In fact, the agent of Edinson Cavani has hinted that Arsenal may have already made an approach for his services. Claudio Annelluci said the following on his client’s future: “There was much interest in the player during the past six months. I can confirm that Cavani has heard proposals from Liverpool and Arsenal. He would love to play in England, but has not yet made a final decision. He is not interested in money and fame, he just wants to be happy playing football.” So, could Arsenal make a move for the unsettled Uruguayan? Only time will tell.
