3 Arsenal Players To Watch Next Season

3. Jack Wilshere

Outside of the red half of North London, Jack Wilshere isn’t very popular. Essentially, he is the Arsenal version of Tom Cleverley, just not as bad. Wilshere is undoubtably one of the best talents to have come through our academy in recent years, which is backed up by the fact he’s now in his sixth year since graduating the academy.

However, the progress of Wilshere declined dramatically last campaign. He was, at times, a key player, though at other occasions he disappeared. His starting place in the team is far from certain and there are now claims he is over-rated. I hate to say it- but currently it’s hard to disagree.

We, as fans, herald Wilshere high above the rest, at times we try to make it as difficult as we can to criticise him- but there’s been plenty of times he has disappointed. All is not lost though as Jack is still just 22 and he could well have an astonishing season ahead of him next campaign, like Aaron Ramsey did this term.

A midfield with Ozil, Ramsey, Wilshere and Oxlade-Chamberlain firing on all cylinders sounds perfect and the right kind of team to mount a serious challenge for the Premier League title that we haven’t had our hands on for over ten years.
