Arsenal summer transfer target, Jackson Martinez, has dropped the biggest hint yet that he could be in line for a switch to the Gunners.
Awareness was first raised of Martinez’s availability back in early June when Porto agreed they would let the striker go, but only for the right price.
The 28-year-old, who has been linked with a move to the Emirates in the last three seasons, is reportedly available for £25million, a figure taken from a release clause in his current contract.
And now, during an interview with A Bola, the Colombian international left the media in a frenzy after stating his admiration for the London club.
Arsenal are a great team, playing in one of the best leagues in the world.
I’m still waiting to see what the future holds. It’s not known yet but it will be known soon.
For now, I’m fully focused on the Copa America.
The agent of Martinez recently announced that his client is nearing a completed transfer to a top European club, and since then media speculation has linked him with a move to a host of teams. AC Milan have agreed to pay his release clause, but the player is yet to agree a contact with the Italian side.
It is believed that a formal announcement may not be made until after the Copa America, where he is currently representing Colombia alongside Radamel Falcao, who is expected to return to the Premier League next season with rivals, Chelsea.
Every player’s dream is to play where they can feel well and enjoy football, and that’s my dream too.
Whether it’s in England, Italy or Spain, the most important thing is that my family and I both feel well and I can enjoy my football.
Arsene Wenger is well in the hunt for a world-class striker, and has publicly reassured fans that he is only looking for players of the highest quality.

With the expected departures of both Lukas Podolski and Joel Campbell, it could well free up the cash needed to complete the transfer fee and player-wages of around £120,000 per week.
