Chelsea goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois, has dropped one of the biggest hints yet that Petr Cech could be leaving Stamford Bridge this summer.
The former number one at Stamford Bridge has been heavily linked with a move to the Gunners this summer, as Jose Mourinho looks to bring in some fresh talent.
And Courtois, who has been the main choice between the sticks for the majority of the season, has admitted that times must be hard when being away from the spotlight.
Whilst reporting for international duty, the Belgian international told L’Equipe:
We work great together, but it’s tough when you have a goalkeeper at such a high level. It pushes you to never slacken off. I’m strong in my head and both of us are decisive.
If he wants to go, that would be his choice. It’s a shame that such a skilled goalkeeper must stay on the bench.
Cech has made just seven appearances in the Premier League this season, with his chances becoming limited due to the impressive rise in form of Courtois since his return from loan at Athletico Madrid.
And it seems Arsene Wenger is ready to pounce on Cech who can solve the dilemma surrounding Arsenal’s need for a world class goalkeeper.
The Gunners will however face stiff competition from both Manchester United and Liverpool, who are also prepared to launch a bid for the 33-year-old.
Arsenal are thought to be favourites for his signature though, with the Czech Republican international preferably wanting to stay in London.
